Genetic Counsellor Registration Board
We have now made available the 2024 calendar, containing relevant GCRAB activity dates.
Dear All
GCRAB continues to align it’s working with AHCS and development of a new GCRAB website. We are working on registration for 2024 to occur via the AHCS website. This is work in progress and we will share updates as they become available. This means that all intention to register forms will need to be emailed to enquiries@gcrb.org.uk between 1st February to midday on 8th February (Inclusive). Once submitted, individuals will receive acknowledgement via email.
The GCRAB Chair will review the application. If eligibility is confirmed and a place allocated, applicants will receive notification by email. Applicants will not need to pay their registration fee until submission of application in April 2024. More information will follow shortly regarding application submission.
Please find a new version of the Applicant Guidelines with an updated GCRAB Registration Portfolio Assessment Process Timeline in Appendix 7.
Please direct questions to enquiries@gcrb.org.uk
A newly updated FAQs document is now available on the Registrants page of the website, to guide those submitting deferrals in January.
We are looking for new members of the PIP Group who will be patient and public representatives and who have experience of commenting on genetic activity and its acceptability to NHS patients and the public, but who are not professionals working in clinical genetics. The PIP group chair will also require experience of sitting on a board or committee. We will endeavour to seek appointment to the PIP group from individuals from a variety of backgrounds and protected characteristics. Click on the link below to read the PIP Group terms of reference for further information,
The Board are currently reviewing the CPD requirements for new applicants and we are in discussion with the AHCS about this. We aim to have an update available at the end of June; we apologise for any uncertainty that this is causing.
Our Annual General Meeting will be held online between 1pm and 2pm. We look forward to seeing members at the meeting for some important decision making.
